Inside Perxona's First "Build Your Own AI Avatar" Workshop in Tokyo

Last week in Minato-ku, Tokyo, we hosted our very first Build Your Own AI Avatar Builder Workshop, and it set exactly the tone we'd hoped for ahead of our upcoming Hackathon on August 8.

The room brought together the kind of mix we love: developers, vibe coders, designers, and product managers, all curious about the same question: how is an AI Avatar actually built? Not as a one-off demo, but as a real, interactive experience people can talk to, learn from, and build on.

What we taught

The goal of the evening was simple: take builders behind the scenes of Perxona. We walked through how the Perxona AI Avatar works under the hood, then dug into our Avatar Design Framework, the way we think about turning a concept into a living, responsive Avatar.

The live demo was where it clicked for most people. Seeing the motion platform in action, and walking through real-world use cases like RESOL and Crescent, made the technology concrete. These weren't slides, they were working examples of Avatars solving real problems, and the questions they sparked were sharp and specific.

What we learned

Honestly, we learned as much as we taught. The discussions were the highlight: builders pushing on what's possible, where the edges are, and how they might apply Avatars to their own ideas. People were genuinely impressed with the platform, but more importantly, they were already thinking like builders, asking the practical "how would I make this?" questions that tell us an idea is about to become a project.

That curiosity is the best signal we could ask for. It confirmed something we believe deeply: the most interesting AI Avatar experiences won't come only from us, they'll come from a community of builders experimenting in the open.

Why we're looking forward to August 8

The Workshop was the warm-up. The Hackathon is where it gets real.

On August 8 in Tokyo, builders will take everything from the Workshop: the framework, the platform, the ideas, and turn them into working AI Avatar experiences. Participants get Perxona credits and the tools to keep building well beyond the event.
