Meet A.T.: the AI guide who met ART TAIPEI's visitors online and on the floor
An art fair is a lot of questions. Which gallery is where, who is the artist behind that piece, where do I buy a ticket, what is on today. For four days at the end of October, visitors to ART TAIPEI 2026 could ask all of that to a character named A.T.
ART TAIPEI is the big one. The 33rd edition, organised by the Taiwan Art Gallery Association, ran from 30 October to 2 November at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1, with 127 galleries from Taiwan and abroad under the theme "Symbiosis". This year, for the first time, the fair announced an AI assistant on its official website: bilingual and cross-language guidance, exhibitor and artwork information, route suggestions, an overview of events on the floor.
That assistant is A.T., and A.T. is built on Perxona.

One character, two doors
Most event assistants live in one place. A.T. lived in two.
On the website, A.T. sits in the corner of every page, the way a concierge does on a hotel site. Open the panel, type or talk, and ask about galleries, highlights or ticketing. A visitor planning a Saturday could do it from the sofa the night before.
In the hall, the Perxona team built the ART TAIPEI AI Hub, an AI conversation station where A.T. appears full size on a screen. People walking past could stop and talk to the same character, with the same knowledge of the fair, out loud, in the middle of the show.
That is the difference a face makes. A search box on a website and a kiosk in a venue are two separate products. A character is one thing that can be in both places, and visitors recognise it when they move from one to the other.
What happened when students showed up
The day we did not plan for was the one that taught us the most.
On the fair's education day, more than 600 students from 15 junior and senior high schools came through the AI Hub in a single day. Our colleague Lina Chen hosted an "AI character quiz" at the station, with A.T. as the star. Between questions about the artworks, A.T. pulled out dance moves on the screen, and every time the station erupted.
A.T. is an information guide. On that day it was also the reason a group of fifteen-year-olds paid attention to an art fair. Lina put it well afterwards: the avatar stopped being something that explains, and became something you enjoy a digital experience with.

Why this is a Perxona story
This is the fourth post in our series on projects where the avatar is the product, and A.T. is the biggest public deployment in it so far: a national art fair, its official website, four days, thousands of visitors.
The lesson is the same one we keep running into. A.T. does nothing that a well-made FAQ page could not do in principle. The galleries and works were already listed. The ticket prices were already published. The difference is that visitors stopped, smiled and started a conversation, in the hall and on the website. As our founder Kurt Liu wrote from the floor on the last day, watching that happen is the whole point of what we are building.
What A.T. is not: a scripted info desk with a cartoon on top. A.T. answers in natural conversation, in more than one language, from the fair's own data, and does it with a voice, a face and, when the audience is fifteen, a dance.

Where this goes next
The same setup fits any event where strangers arrive with the same twenty questions: trade fairs, museums, conferences, festivals, campus open days. The organiser supplies the information. Perxona supplies the character, the voice and the conversation. The character then goes wherever the visitors are: the website before the event, the hall during it, and, if you like, the recap afterwards.
See A.T., build your own
Meet A.T.: 2026.art-taipei.com (the site is in Chinese, with an English section; A.T. is still live as we publish).
Put a guide on your event: talk to us. A.T. is a Perxona deployment on an official fair website and an on-site station, and the same setup works for your show.
For developers: the open-source Perxona Connect Kit is on GitHub at XRSPACE-Inc/perxona-connect-kit, with samples you can run in minutes.
If your event has a website full of answers that nobody reads, send us a message. We would be glad to talk.
